VI Technology Implements Advanced Printing Test Solution for PARC®
AUSTIN, Texas (Dec 22, 2006) -- PARC (Palo Alto Research Center, Inc., a Xerox subsidiary), a research and development pioneer in the field of advanced laser printing technologies, needed a solution for testing and analyzing the performance of a next-generation industrial printing system. PARC scientists needed a test system they could use to prototype and develop an advanced multi-print head system for printing on non-standard materials in a harsh industrial environment using different types on inks and other fluids. PARC called on VI Technology to develop and integrate software and hardware to monitor and control multi-print heads used in their new industrial printing system and analyze performance of the system.
The PARC industrial printing solution developed by VI Technology successfully replaced existing custom hardware with a platform designed and built using much less costly commercial-off-the-shelf hardware and software components based on National Instruments PXI and LabVIEW. VI Technology certified engineers used their extensive LabVIEW and automated test expertise to implement a system that allows PARC engineers to quickly develop new print sequences for testing the system in much less time than would have been possible with the previous system. The new user interface also makes it easy for operators to monitor and control the system and analyze print head performance.
The new system implemented by VI Technology benefits PARC scientists by providing them with a flexible system they can use both as a research and development tool and also as a platform for demonstrating their advanced industrial printing system capabilities to prospective customers.
