MMTS™ Multimedia Test System
Our award-winning, fully-integrated MMTS™ delivers the fastest path to analog & digital measurements for audio/video devices. You significantly reduce your testing time for DVD players, set-top boxes, smart phones, portable media players, telematics units, and video game consoles. At the same time, the quality of your test results improves. MMTS™includes the hardware, software, algorithms, and extensions needed for testing all the components in your devices, including: analog and digital video and audio, power sources, USB, modem, and Ethernet connectivity.
MMTS™ is based on the National Instruments PXI platform and relies on the latest measurement technology to deliver very precise, accurate, and reliable results. It is commonly used at the Functional Circuit Test (FCT) and End of Line (EOL) locations in manufacturing, but has many other applications, as well.

Benefits
Speed: MMTS™ incorporates the latest test and measurement technology as well as the best system integration practices to deliver the fastest measurements. The expected average test time for a set-top box using the MMTS™ in a production environment is 20 seconds, yielding typical test performance increases of up to 30X.
Scalability: MMTS™ is based on off-the-shelf, modular instruments making it very scalable and adaptable to changing needs. The system hardware, connectivity, and signal routing can be easily expanded to test new signals and new devices by just adding the necessary modules. The software is also designed in such a manner that it readily recognizes the new modules and new tests can be developed and also added in a modular fashion.
Cost: MMTS™ is very cost-effective in terms of initial investment as well as cost of ownership. The starting price of $32,900 is achieved through the use of commercial off-the-shelf technology. In addition, the MMTS is an all-in-one system that reduces cost by not requiring separate expensive boxed instruments for individual tests or signals. The system can test more devices in less time increasing throughput which reduces costs and time in testing. The user configurable settings substantially minimize development and deployment costs and invested time. All these features make MMTS™ a cost-effective solution that is easily maintained, upgraded, and customizable.
Throughput: MMTS™ is based on software and hardware that takes full advantage of the latest processor technology and leverages parallel resource usage enabling the test of up to 4 UUTs simultaneously. Using National Instruments’ highly-integrated PXI, LabVIEW, and TestStand platforms, the MMTS enables the most efficient communications through tight timing, triggering, and synchronization mechanisms as well as native software routines designed especially for the available hardware.
User configurable: We designed MMTS™ based on our 17 years of experience in system integration and automated test system design yielding the best and most intuitive approach to configuring and using the system. Test engineers and technicians can define the test parameters in easy-to-use user interfaces without the need for programming, as well as a point-and-click interface for selecting the desired tests.
Test data management: The software in MMTS™ readily includes the ability to export data automatically. The end results are in CSV format. In addition, you get all the interfaces and functions needed to easily integrate with the award-winning Arendar® 2009 Suite. This enterprise test software provides engineers and managers with instant access to design, characterization, validation, and verification, as well as to manufacturing test information across the enterprise. The software features automatic report generation and a web-accessible customized dashboard.
All-in-one system: MMTS™ eliminates the need for stand-alone measurement devices. This provides users with three main advantages. The first advantage is a reduced footprint on the production floor. Secondly, external timing and synchronization mechanisms are not needed between measurement devices. And third, integrity and proper correlation of all acquired signals is ensured. Lastly, with MMTS™ you rely on one vendor for customization and support, instead of multiple vendors.
